YOU are the Key to Customer Satisfaction

1. Spend Time Each Day to Work on YOU!!!!!

Focus time on you, whether it is 5 minutes or an hour, each and every day! If you are confident, your customers will see that!

2. Define YOUR Daily, Weekly and Monthly Goals and Take Action!

Knowing where you’re going and why gives you confidence, control and empowerment, which everyone, especially customers, sees!

3. Know, understand and believe in your Value and Worth, and do not sacrifice it.

When you cut your rates and sacrifice your value, you are telling your customer you do not VALUE YOU.

4. Understand what your CUSTOMER’S goals, dreams and needs are!

Whether online, in a store / restaurant, or in your office, your customers have goals or needs that cause them to need your product or service…..

  • Ask questions, take polls, initiate surveys
  • Do research (on target markets, industries, trends, age groups, etc.)

5. Do everything possible to EXCEED your customer’s goals and create loyalty!

It is not enough to just ‘create products and they will come’. You need to be different than others, exceed their expectations, and be there for them.

6. Acknowledge and Reward THEM…. individually or as a whole!

Your customers are loyal; acknowledge that loyalty in any way possible.

Just recently, I began repeating to myself the exact words I used to title this post; ‘take control before you lose it’. I found myself chanting those words over and over again, in hopes I would achieve it; control that is. After all, I know far to well what happens when all control is lost to the fast paced world of career, business and life demands; it is crazed chaos.

Now, I actually work better under stress; maybe you do too. I love balancing multiple clients, projects, hobbies and obligations. It causes me to get laser sharp and focused on planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and executing. But the moment  that begins to go out the window, all of the things that matter most to me sends me into a rabbit hole of eating poorly, budgeting rarely, working out hardly, and sleep walking regularly. It is ugly…  and everyone around me; clients, vendors, employees, friends, family and even strangers fall victim to it.

LEADERtips for taking control before you lose it:

  • Recognize it early; make note (literally write out) of the emotions, actions, self-talk and physical changes you experience when life starts to control you versus you controlling it.
  • Just the action of pausing, breathing and taking time to think and write about it, provides a great tool for both now – recognizing what is happening and taking action to prevent it, and also for the future – when a similar time of losing control threatens your peace, productivity and existence.
  • If you have already made note of it from an earlier time, pull it out and read through it, reflect on it, and make note of where you are at the very moment in time, and what you did before to get yourself back on track and in control.
  • Once you have become aware of your state of being; commit to making changes now to prevent you from losing control any more than you may have already. We all know that letting things go for to long, can turn into a tornado of chaos.
  • Sit down and with a pad and pen, write out what you are feeling and experiencing (from losing control), and what you will do to gain it back. *Whether one wants to believe it or not, when they are looking chaos in the eyes, every problem has a solution. You just need to get yourself clear and focused on finding it.
  • Lay out a plan to recover control from those areas of your life you feel are slipping away, i.e. your health, fitness, diet, finances, relationships, career, etc.
  • Define a goal or two around taking back control – what specifically do you want to achieve, i.e. sanity, balance, power, self-love, organization, peace, etc..
  • Identify 1-3 things you will begin acting on today toward those goals, i.e. make a list of all To Do’s,  prioritize the top 3 and only focus on those, reorganize your calendar, cancel or reschedule low priority obligations, define a diet/fitness plan, create a budget, talk to your boss, etc.
  • Then it all comes down to taking action on it.

At this very moment, I chose to sit down and write this post, as my first step to regaining control of my own chaos, before I lose control. Thinking through and writing out the above has given me an immediate sense of power and confidence; that with a few small steps I will find my breath again.
