The clock keeps ticking down toward January 1 -an opportunity for you to reset your head and heart toward the goals you want to achieve in your career, business, relationships, finances, health/fitness and more….

If you have been following along, you should have a clear idea of the goals you want to pursue and achieve in 2015. Now, you need to find the pain, the wow, or the WHY Spot that will keep you focused, determined and committed to those goals.

Have you ever wondered ‘why’ you have not been able to accomplish or attain the goal or dream you have for yourself?

Maybe it’s the corner office, or to lead your own business. It could be a weight, money or relationship goal. All of which must have a powerful Why to support them, if you plan on executing, staying focused, and achieving them. Do your goals have a WHY attached to them?

If you have had good intentions, even great, and yet you have found those intentions wane after a short period of time, leaving you stressed or even depressed, or simply not accomplishing it, it could be because you haven’t found your ‘Why Spot™’… that internal switch or desire, that burns so intensely that you are willing to do anything to pursue and achieve that goal. Until your Why is more important to you than the sacrifices, compromises and hard work you have to put in to pursuing your goals, you will never reach them. And that is noone’s fault but your own.

Here are easy tips for finding your Why Spot™ (brought to you by Shedding the Bitch – where we help individuals discover, confront and shed the excuses, sabotages, mental blocks and fears (what we call bitches), so they achieve their goals)

To recap –

  1. Define your goals – use the SMART method for doing so.
  2. Acknowledge (write down) the motivators that keep you focused on your goals
  3. Do the same for the sabotagers which can derail your focus, execution and achievement, i.e. don’t like to ‘ask’ or sell. Don’t feel I have earned it, unsure of how to do it, etc..
  4. Create a plan of attack – how you can leverage your motivators to keep you energized, and what tactics, techniques or support can you arm yourself with to knock out the sabotagers.
  5. Assess, adjust and act along the way so you are always being real and honest with YOU about your progress or setbacks.
  6. Engage an accountability partner, coach, mentor to track, challenge and motivate you.
